Other Writing
Articles
I have written over 2 dozen articles for the Grass Roots magazine, a down-to-earth, do-it-yourself, home on the farm/in the bush style magazine. Mostly when I was living on a farm in the bush. I have also written a few articles for the North-West Express paper, Positive Words magazine, the VAME newsletter (Victorian Association of Miniature Enthusiasts), and even once had an article in Earth Garden.
Short Stories
Short is not my strong suit, I’ll be honest – but I still won a handful of prizes for short stories in 2005 with Positive Words (a great little mag for budding writers – check it out. The lady who runs it is a champ, carving a space for writers by writers).
Poetry
In my teens I had poetry published in the North-West Express paper, won the Positive Words poetry competition in 2005, and had works accepted into poetry collections. I did readings of poetry for community groups and events, and amused the old folks in the Nursing Wing of the local hospital with readings of poetry and stories.
